Disciple Now Kansas City (DNOWKC) is a city‑wide student weekend built around one simple conviction: when students encounter Jesus deeply and together, transformation happens. Across Kansas City, churches unite for a focused time of worship, teaching, and community designed to encourage students to grow as disciples of Jesus.
This isn’t a conference. This isn’t a retreat. This is a weekend hosted by local churches and local pastors, shaped by Scripture, and fueled by the belief that God is working in the lives of students in our city.
OUR HEART
We want to see students deeply encouraged in their faith and challenged to bring the good news of Jesus to their communities through gospel proclamation and rich, expositional teaching.
Every part of the weekend is intentional:
- Teaching that is biblical, bold, and compelling
- Worship that extols Jesus
- Small groups that encourage students to dig deep
- Host homes from local church members that model hospitality
- Fun that engages every student and pushes them to greater community
WHAT MAKES DNOWKC UNIQUE
DNOWKC is different than a conference or a local DNOW weekend. We are a collection of local student ministries that pool resources to provide a weekend of deep discipleship. To do this, we are committed to:
- Gospel-centrality
- Scripture
- Spiritual Depth
- City-wide Collaboration
- Affordability and Accessibility
WHY DNOWKC OVER A TRADITIONAL DNOW
DNOWKC encourages churches to join in because it serves to multiply and amplify what they can do alone. Together, we can offer:
- Shared resources that reduce cost and planning load
- Experienced teachers, worship leaders, youth leaders, and communicators
- A unified theme for students across the Kansas City metro
- A collaborative network of student pastors and leaders who encourage one another
We believe in the importance of the local church. DNOWKC is led by local churches and student pastors. When the weekend is over, students stick with their local bodies. We simply pool resources and amplify discipleship in the city for one weekend.
